On New Year’s Eve, add sparkle to more than just your outfit! Play up your make-up and have some fun. Day to day I don’t wear a smokey eye and keep my make-up more on the natural side so when it comes to a night out, like NYE, I love playing up my eyes. Also, I’m a big fan of any excuse to buy gold glitter eyeliner as you’ll see below. Here are a few of latest additions to my make-up bag that are perfect to ring in the New Year!

Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette – Discovered this palatte in Scandalust from mega beauty influencer Marianna Hewitt who was recreating Emily Ratajkowski’s look done by makeup artist, Hung Vanngo. Highly suggest you follow his Instagram account, he is behind some of the most iconic models and celebrities beauty looks and is such an inspiration! I recently met Marianna Hewitt at a blogger event for Who What Wear in NYC, where she spoke on a panel. I had the privilege to meet her and told her I had just purchased this Marc Jacobs palette because of her and she said it is such a good one which made me feel even more excited about my purchase! I always lean towards bronze and golds on my eyes and loved the mix of rust within this palatte. It’s the perfect base to create a NYE look!
Emily’s look — major inspo:

Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner — I cant help it, ever since elementary school I’ve been drawn towards glittery things. Perhaps the obsession started with my first purchase of the Bath & Body Works ‘Art Stuff’ glitter roller ball. Me and my friends loved putting this ridiculous purple and blue glitter all over our eye lids and face. (I hope those of you reading this can relate because looking up a picture now to hyperlink to ‘Art Stuff’ has brought me so much joy!) However, this Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter liner gives me the same satisfaction but way more grown up. I discovered it when Byrdie.com invited me to join their Byrdie Beauty Lab powered by Nordstrom here in NYC. They had a pop-up where they featured the best beauty products sold at Nordstrom and I was immediately drawn to it! A touch of it over my black eyeliner and it adds just enough sparkle for a fun night!
Laura Mercier Kajal D’Orient — I was gifted this Laura Mercier Kajal D’Orient in Noir Supreme and am obsessed. For years, using a thick pencil like this was my signature move but then I somehow started using liquid liner and took a break from the Kajal life. But within the last few months since receiving this I absolutely love it! If you enjoy a more smudged liner look and smokey eye, this is for you. I use it with an angled brush to wing it out. It’s also easy to line the inside and waterline of your lids with it’s smooth application.
Laura Mercier Face Illuminator Powder — Can’t have enough of Laura Mercier! I love this highlighter in shade Indiscretion for a quick J. Lo glow. A little bit above my cheek bones and above the eyelid add the perfect amount of sheen. Also, I have super sensitive skin and this product hasn’t made me break out like past powders have. Shop it, here.
Dior Addict Lipstick — I took a photo into Sephora of this model I discovered on Instagram during NYFW with the perfect pink pout that looked effortless and natural but still there. This is basically the constant lip color I’m searching for and this Dior shade in 578 is a top favorite of mine! Since I usually smoke up my eyes for a night out, especially NYE, I like to go more natural on the lip. This lipstick is perfect because it makes your lips look like your lips — only better. It’s also a great everyday product because it’s moisturizing, sheen and gives the right amount of color.
Artis Brushes — Your tools to create your makeup look are just as important as your product! I recently had the privilege to be invited to the Artis showroom in NYC and learned so much about these luxury makeup brushes. They just came out with these brushes in the “Smoke” shade, how fitting for NYE! Their brushes have changed the game when it comes to makeup tools and feel amazing to use. Shown here is the Circle 1 brush, great for shadow or even to conceal. The second brush is the, Linear 1 brush, which is great for liners and making things precise. Shop them, here.
I hope this inspires you to switch up your NYE look and add some sparkle in more ways than one!
Thank you for all your support in 2017 and following this journey with me. Here’s to 2018 and making it one of the best years yet!
